It's Not Like We're Working In a Coal Mine

I’ve found that one of the unexpected quirks of working in a creative field is how easy it is to blur the lines between your job and your hobby. With other jobs it was clear in my mind when I was getting burnt out and needed to do something for myself and relax a little, but I guess I thought that if I do the thing that makes me happy for work- I’d just never need a break again.
Clearly not true when you say it out loud like that, but it's a common feeling nonetheless. Sometimes when I start to feel burnt out I worry that maybe I don’t like this thing that brought me so much joy. That's not a good thing to feel!
But- hopefully before I spiral I remind myself that even if you play pretend for a job, it’s still important to play for play’s sake. Don’t panic! Go outside! Play a game! Pretend you’re a runaway princess!
-Before you decide you have to find a new career.
Keep it up, future Joey.
And never stop loving things.
